The establishment of the organization called Tanzeemul Makatib, on the 11th Aug.1968/15th Jamadul ula 1388 A.H., marks start of a new era of enlightment and religious awakening under the active leadership of (Late) Maulana Syed Ghulam Askari Sahab (Tabah Sarah). It succeeded a long period of darkness and suffocation in terms of religious conciousness nad education, that encompassed the Shia community which enjoyed a bright socio-intellectual position earlier in the recent past history.

Sensing the root cause of this ‘Fatal’ ailment, Tanzeemul Makatib launched a concerted movement of opening centers for basic religious education across the length and breadth of the country in order to inculcate the religious consciousness right at a stage when a child is in making of a man and in turn a society.

The movement proved fruit-bearing to encourage us to step into other fields of religio-socio-cultural activities. Now Tanzeemul Makatibs has grown into an apex body of religious environ-building. Its presence is welcome and its need is keenly felt among Shia masses in India and abroad as well.
